This brooch is a chunky, solid, beautifully textured statement piece. It is made from cast sterling silver which has picked up the delicate contours and surface qualities of an old oyster shell washed up on the bay where I live.  It has a hand made double pin back to keep it secure. Would make a great statement on a coat or scarf.
